Does Fed ex check in state packages for reptiles?

Lets say i ordered a red tailed boa to NYC from North Carolina and they ship it over night,express mail would fed ex find it or say something if it is x rayed and they see a snake,(The box will say this side up perishable so obviously they will know it is a live animal but would they check what kind of snake ) or will it still get delivered on time to me?
