Anyone know the title of this film involving snakes?

The basic plot is that a group of people are travelling in the outback of some country, and they stop off at some place where there are snakes. The snakes eventually take over the people, and the people end up becoming snake like? It must of been in the late seventies, early eighties, any ideas?
