Corn snake has duct tape stuck on him HELP?

My corn snake has about 3-5cm of Duct tape stuck on him as i was trying to secure the heat mat to the bottom of the vivarium and it didn't stick properly. It is stuck down to hard to be able to pull off as it will probably rip his skin. A friend has recommended i feed him once more then stop so he sheds and it will come off. Do you think this is a good idea or something else will work better?
